J.J. MORLEY ENTERPRISES, INC. COMPLETES RESTORATION PROJECT ON DOWNTOWN RENAISSANCE HOTEL 

ATLANTA, GA --- November 27, 2006 --- J.J. Morley Enterprises, Inc., a contracting company that deals in restoration and waterproofing, recently completed construction consisting of a major exterior restoration to the downtown Renaissance Hotel. The nine-month restoration project included waterproofing and repairing the cement on the hotel’s façade, cleaning, patching, and coating the building’s exterior and balconies.

The Renaissance Hotel – like many older buildings left un-maintained – had deterioration and damage that eventually became observable. Loose and deteriorating precast and cracks caused by settlement and thermal expansion and contraction caused a widening in the structure that allowed moisture and wind to infiltrate it. Over time, the sealant applications around windows, doors and in various joints deteriorate and take in water, resulting in both structural and aesthetic damage. 

“This was an exciting and arduous project for us to work on. Not only was the hotel fully operational during the renovation, but the weather and the downtown location added to the challenge. Fortunately, the entire Renaissance staff was understanding during the renovation and worked with us to see this project completed successfully. It is admirable that they took the necessary steps to avoid future problems,“ said John Morley, president, J.J. Morley Enterprises, Inc.  

Renaissance Hotel General Manager Jeff McLaughlin said, “While it is always challenging to go through any kind of renovation, the experience with J.J. Morley Enterprises was exceptional. If we had a board meeting, they saw to it that there was no noise and the crew was respectful of the fact that we were open for business.  Now that the job is complete, it was well worth any inconvenience it might have caused. The Renaissance Hotel has a new, clean look and business has already increased because of it.”
